The Baptism Ministry at St. Raphael's offers many opportunities for parishioners to assist families in preparing parents and godparents in the first Sacrament of Initiation for children. Those interested in serving in the Baptism Ministry, please call the rectory 516-785-0236
Welcome Ministers:
Meet with parents to review the process of Baptism assist with paperwork that must be submitted.
Blessing at Mass Ministers:
Contact scheduled families, greet them at the assigned Mass, participate in the ritual blessing at Mass.
Baptism Preparation Class Ministers:
Welcome parents, share some of their own experience of raising children in the Catholic faith.
Baptism Celebration Ministers:
Greet and welcome families and guests, participate in the ritual, assist with preparation before and after as needed.
Bib Makers:
Use provided pattern to sew white garments given to each newly baptized during the baptism ceremony.
