Baptism

Baptism, the first of the initiation sacraments, is truly a celebration of God’s love and welcomes us into the extended family of the Church. Baptism brings with it great joy, and also responsibilities. Most of us were baptized as infants, and our parents chose to accept those responsibilities and to nurture us in a life of faith and love.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation helps a person heal from serious sin and brings them back into communion with God. Students in the Religious Education Program receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation after two years of learning the faith. All Catholics are encouraged to receive Reconciliation at least twice a year.

Mass

The Mass is the ultimate prayer we pray as Catholics. By attending Mass and participating to our fullest we come to know and love God in Word and Sacrament. At each Mass we have the privilege of receiving Jesus in the Eucharist. At St. Raphael we have the opportunity to attend Mass every day and receive Jesus in Holy Communion.

Confirmation

Confirmation completes the Sacraments of Initiation. Children who are enrolled in Religious Education receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Fall of their 9th grade. Adults who wish to receive Confirmation should inquire into the RCIA program.

Marriage

We share your happiness and pray that God blesses you abundantly during your time of marriage preparation and throughout your married life. Marriage usually is experienced on two levels — personal and public. It is personal in that it involves two individuals a man and a woman who promise to become one in a covenant of love.

Holy Orders

Holy Orders is a Sacrament of the Church in which baptized men are ordained to serve the Church as deacons, priests and bishops. Those who are called and receive Holy Orders take on a special mission in leading and serving the people of God.

Anointing of the Sick

The sacrament o Anointing of the Sick is administered on the first Sunday of the month after the 12:00 P.M. Mass. We understand that illness comes in many forms, physical, emotional, psychological. Persons suffering from these illness are invited to receive this special spiritual healing. If you are physically unable to attend, or if you have a family member near death, please call the Rectory and arrange for a home visit.
